ATIS has acquired AuditMate, an elevator-auditing and management technology company, in a move designed to bring inspection expertise, portfolio data and maintenance oversight onto a more connected platform.
The acquisition combines AuditMate’s software capabilities with ATIS’s existing network of elevator and escalator inspectors, consultants and managed-service professionals. The integrated offering is expected to provide building owners and property managers with greater visibility across large vertical-transportation portfolios, from maintenance activity and compliance issues to vendor performance and operating costs. ATIS announced the acquisition on 24 August 2026.
Addressing limited portfolio visibility
Elevator portfolios can generate information across multiple maintenance contractors, inspection records, invoices, certificates and property-management systems. When this information remains fragmented, owners may find it difficult to verify whether contracted maintenance has been completed, identify unresolved compliance items or assess the performance of individual assets.
AuditMate was developed to address this challenge by collecting and organising elevator data for property managers. Its platform is designed to help users review maintenance contracts, monitor service activity, track open issues and identify potential cost-control opportunities.
By integrating the technology with ATIS’s field and consulting capabilities, the companies aim to connect portfolio intelligence with direct professional oversight. This could allow clients to move from receiving periodic reports to managing elevator performance more proactively.
Connected data with professional oversight
Under the combined model, data can flow directly from elevator vendors into the platform and be refreshed every 24 hours. Information relating to assets, maintenance activity, invoices, compliance gaps and unresolved items can then be viewed through a central dashboard.
ATIS can use this information to coordinate with service providers, monitor outstanding work and follow issues through to resolution. Clients may also receive portfolio reports and reviews supported by the company’s consultants.
ATIS describes the offering as vendor-neutral and suitable for portfolios of different sizes, without a minimum equipment-volume requirement. The company says the combination is intended to improve uptime, strengthen compliance, reduce operational risk and give owners better control over elevator expenditure. The integrated ATIS and AuditMate platform includes vendor-data connections, issue tracking, dashboards and managed follow-up.
Leadership highlights the need for transparency
ATIS CEO Jim Fox said elevators remain among the most important but least transparent systems within the built environment. He indicated that combining AuditMate’s technology with ATIS’s industry expertise would support a more informed and accountable approach to elevator management.
AuditMate Chief Technology Officer Andrea Arceneaux highlighted portfolio visibility as a foundation for better decision-making. The integration is expected to help owners understand what is happening across their properties and act more confidently on the information available.
AuditMate founder and CEO Ash Wilson said joining ATIS would help accelerate the platform’s original mission of bringing greater clarity to elevator operations. According to Wilson, combining analytics, platform intelligence and vertical-transportation expertise can improve accountability, safety and performance at scale.
ATIS expands its technology foundation
ATIS operates across the United States and Canada, providing vertical-transportation inspections, consulting and managed services. Its work covers new construction, modernization, maintenance management, certificate management and long-term asset planning.
The company reports a network of more than 250 inspectors and consultants, serving over 15,000 clients and supporting the safety and performance of nearly 100,000 elevators and escalators across North America.
AuditMate will now become part of the technology foundation supporting these services. Rather than functioning solely as a standalone auditing tool, its capabilities can be applied alongside field inspections, independent consulting and ongoing portfolio management.
A wider shift towards data-driven elevator management
The acquisition reflects the elevator industry’s growing focus on connected asset management. Building owners are increasingly looking beyond basic maintenance reporting and seeking measurable information on equipment condition, contractor performance, recurring shutdowns, compliance status and lifecycle expenditure.
For large property portfolios, the combination of digital monitoring and independent elevator expertise could make it easier to identify underperforming assets, close compliance gaps and plan modernization investments more effectively.
ATIS’s acquisition of AuditMate therefore represents more than an expansion of its software capabilities. It brings technology, field expertise and managed services into one operating model, potentially giving property managers a clearer and more actionable view of elevator performance across the complete asset lifecycle.
