The BuilMirai Experience Center will showcase Hitachi’s AI-enabled building technologies, with Hitachi Lift India contributing local operational, service and vertical transportation expertise.

Hitachi Lift India has joined Hitachi Ltd. and GlobalLogic in launching the BuilMirai Experience Center at GlobalLogic’s India headquarters in Noida.

Announced on 21 July 2026, the facility has been created as an innovation, demonstration and customer engagement hub for BuilMirai, Hitachi’s digital service for intelligent building management. The service is centred on HMAX for Buildings, Hitachi’s next-generation portfolio of smart building solutions.

Hitachi Lift India will support the initiative through its local operational and service capabilities, including its expertise in elevator systems. GlobalLogic, another Hitachi Group company, is responsible for the digital engineering behind the service.

The collaboration brings together building equipment, operational knowledge, digital engineering and artificial intelligence to demonstrate how modern properties can be managed through a more connected platform.

Showcasing Intelligent Building Management

The BuilMirai Experience Center will allow customers, partners and other industry stakeholders to explore Hitachi’s latest smart building technologies.

Through the facility, Hitachi will demonstrate how information from connected building assets can be brought together to improve operational visibility and support better decision-making. The platform is intended to help organisations strengthen energy efficiency, sustainability, infrastructure performance and occupant wellbeing.

At the centre of BuilMirai is HMAX for Buildings, which combines data from Hitachi’s installed and digitalised assets with the company’s industry knowledge and advanced AI capabilities.

Instead of viewing different building systems separately, the platform is designed to provide operators with a more unified understanding of their facilities. This can help organisations monitor performance, identify operational requirements and manage building assets more effectively.

Hitachi Lift India Brings Local Elevator Expertise

Hitachi Lift India’s involvement connects the initiative with the country’s vertical transportation sector.

The company provides elevator, escalator and moving walkway installation and maintenance services in India. Under the BuilMirai initiative, it will contribute local operational knowledge and service experience, including expertise related to elevator systems.

This role is particularly relevant as elevators and escalators become part of increasingly connected building environments. Building owners and facility managers are placing greater importance on technologies that improve visibility, reliability, efficiency and the overall experience of occupants.

While GlobalLogic leads the digital engineering of BuilMirai, Hitachi Lift India will help bring an understanding of local building operations and customer requirements to the initiative.

Manish Sikka, Managing Director of Hitachi Lift India, said the company continues to support India’s urban development through vertical transportation solutions and lifecycle services focused on safety, reliability and customer experience.

He added that BuilMirai is intended to help customers derive greater value from their building assets by improving operational visibility and enabling data-led decision-making through a unified platform.

GlobalLogic Leads Digital Development

GlobalLogic is responsible for the digital engineering supporting BuilMirai.

Its role brings together software development, artificial intelligence, data capabilities and experience design with Hitachi’s operational technology and building systems expertise.

The Noida centre will also provide a collaborative space for engineering teams, customers, business partners and industry stakeholders. Insights gathered through demonstrations and customer interactions will contribute to the continued development of BuilMirai.

Hitachi plans to use the needs and feedback identified through the centre to strengthen the service and support its wider deployment across international markets.

Piyush Jha, Group Vice President and Head of APAC at GlobalLogic, described India as a growing centre for intelligent infrastructure innovation. He said the collaboration combines GlobalLogic’s digital engineering capabilities with Hitachi’s operational technology experience to address challenges across commercial, residential and urban infrastructure.

India Positioned as a Strategic Building Solutions Hub

India’s continued urbanisation, infrastructure development and economic growth are increasing demand for energy-efficient and digitally connected building solutions.

Commercial properties, office developments and infrastructure operators are seeking improved visibility across their building assets, along with technologies that can support sustainability and operational performance.

The BuilMirai Experience Center has been established to address these evolving requirements while positioning India as an important hub for Hitachi’s global building solutions business.

The initiative also reflects Hitachi’s wider strategy of combining information technology, operational technology and physical products. Through this approach, the company aims to create connected solutions that improve how buildings and infrastructure are operated.

Senior Leaders Attend Noida Inauguration

The BuilMirai Experience Center was inaugurated on 18 June 2026, ahead of its formal announcement in July.

The ceremony was attended by Noriharu Amiya, CEO of Hitachi’s Connective Industries Sector; Takeshi Yamamoto, Head of the Building Systems Solutions and Services Business Management Division at Hitachi; Piyush Jha, Group Vice President and Head of APAC at GlobalLogic; and Ankit Mittal, Associate Vice President at GlobalLogic and Delivery Head for the initiative.

Masaya Sakakibara, Chairman of Hitachi Lift India, and Manish Sikka, Managing Director of Hitachi Lift India, also attended the inauguration.

Supporting the Future of Connected Buildings

Established in 2008 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Hitachi, Hitachi Lift India provides installation and maintenance services for elevators, escalators and moving walkways across the country.

Its participation in the BuilMirai Experience Center supports Hitachi’s broader effort to connect physical building equipment with digital platforms and AI-enabled services.

For the Indian vertical transportation industry, the initiative demonstrates the growing importance of collaboration between elevator expertise, building operations and digital engineering.

As buildings become more intelligent and connected, the role of elevator companies is also evolving. Their operational and service knowledge can contribute to wider building management strategies focused on safety, efficiency, sustainability and occupant experience.

Through the Noida centre, Hitachi, Hitachi Lift India and GlobalLogic will demonstrate how their combined capabilities can support the development of smarter and more connected building environments in India and other markets.
