Connected elevator system supports passenger movement and operational reliability at Hotel Gołębiewski Pobierowo

Otis has installed 18 elevators at Hotel Gołębiewski Pobierowo, a major new hospitality development on Poland’s Baltic coast. The installation is designed to support the daily movement of guests, employees and service teams across a property that combines accommodation, dining, wellness, entertainment and conference facilities on an exceptional scale.

Located in the seaside town of Pobierowo, the hotel has more than 1,200 rooms and over 180,000 square metres of space. Its extensive facilities include restaurants, conference areas, indoor and outdoor pools, wellness amenities, children’s attractions and direct access to the beach. After more than six years of development, the property has officially opened and is being positioned as Poland’s largest hotel.

Vertical transportation for a high-volume hospitality environment

In a large resort, elevators do more than connect floors. They form part of the building’s everyday operating system, carrying guests with luggage, hotel employees, housekeeping teams, supplies and service traffic throughout the day.

According to Otis Elevator Co., the 18 elevators have been configured to maximise passenger flow and operational efficiency. This is especially important in a property where demand can change significantly during check-in and check-out periods, conferences, dining hours, leisure activities and events.

Reliable vertical transportation can directly influence the guest experience. Long waiting times or unexpected shutdowns can affect movement across the hotel, while service interruptions may also disrupt housekeeping, catering and other essential operations. The elevator system therefore has an important role in maintaining smooth circulation across the large and complex property.

Otis ONE adds digital visibility

The elevators are supported by Otis ONE, the company’s Internet of Things-based digital platform. The technology connects elevator equipment to the cloud and provides real-time information, remote monitoring and predictive insights.

By continuously reviewing equipment data, the platform can help identify changes in performance that may require attention. Maintenance teams can use these insights to investigate potential issues earlier, arrive with more useful information and, in some cases, address a developing problem before it results in an unplanned shutdown.

For hotel management, greater visibility into elevator status can support faster decision-making and clearer coordination with service teams. This is particularly valuable in a hospitality environment, where equipment availability has an immediate effect on guests and building operations.

Digital monitoring does not remove the need for regular maintenance or skilled technicians. Instead, it gives service professionals additional data to help them plan interventions, diagnose faults and prioritise work more effectively. The result is a more proactive approach to maintenance, with a stronger focus on equipment availability and operational continuity.

Supporting a destination-scale development

Hotel Gołębiewski Pobierowo is designed as more than a place to stay. Its mix of accommodation, leisure, dining and business facilities creates several types of traffic within the same building. Families may be moving between rooms, pools and restaurants, conference visitors may travel in groups, and hotel teams must continue operating behind the scenes.

The hotel’s official website describes a property covering more than 180,000 square metres, with four themed restaurants, extensive wellness and water-park facilities, entertainment areas and private beach access.

Managing these overlapping journeys requires a vertical-transportation system that can support both volume and consistency. The 18-elevator installation gives the hotel the capacity to distribute movement across the property, while Otis ONE adds a digital layer intended to help maintain performance.

The project also reflects a wider change in the elevator industry. Building owners are increasingly looking beyond the initial supply and installation of equipment. Connected service platforms, performance data and predictive maintenance are becoming important parts of long-term building operations, especially in large hotels, hospitals, commercial developments and transport hubs where elevator downtime can have a significant impact.

A focus on long-term performance

Otis described the project as part of its continuing partnership with Gołębiewski Holding. For the hotel operator, the combination of physical elevator capacity and connected monitoring provides a foundation for managing vertical mobility as guest volumes and facility use grow.

The installation demonstrates how elevator planning in a destination-scale hotel must balance passenger experience with operational needs. The number of units is important, but so are traffic management, equipment availability, service responsiveness and access to useful performance data.

At Hotel Gołębiewski Pobierowo, the 18 elevators and the Otis ONE platform bring these requirements together. As the property welcomes thousands of daily journeys, its vertical-transportation network will be central to keeping guests, employees and services moving efficiently.
