Mitsubishi Elevator Singapore, in collaboration with Shanghai Mitsubishi Elevator, is showcasing a range of vertical-mobility and building technologies at Passenger Terminal Expo Asia 2026 in Singapore.

The two-day event, being held on September 23 and 24, 2026, at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre, brings together companies and professionals involved in the planning, design, development and operation of passenger terminals. Mitsubishi Elevator Singapore is exhibiting at Stand F130.

The participation brings together the capabilities of Mitsubishi Elevator (Singapore) Pte. Ltd. and Shanghai Mitsubishi Elevator Co., Ltd., with a focus on technologies designed to support passenger movement, building operations and increasingly connected transport infrastructure.

Technologies on Display

Among the solutions being presented is the Smart-KII escalator, described as the second generation of the K Series smart escalator, alongside the Smart C Moving Walk. Both technologies are particularly relevant to high-traffic environments such as airports and large passenger terminals, where escalators and moving walks form a critical part of passenger circulation infrastructure.

Mitsubishi is also showcasing M’s BRIDGE Remote Maintenance Service, which focuses on safety, reliability and maintenance support.

Digital building solutions form another major part of the display. These include Mitsubishi’s Destination Oriented Allocation System, or DOAS, which assigns passengers to elevators based on their selected destinations, helping manage elevator traffic and passenger movement more efficiently. Mitsubishi Elevator Singapore currently offers DOAS as an option across selected elevator systems.

The company is also highlighting robot integration, reflecting the growing use of autonomous service, cleaning, security and delivery robots within large buildings. Mitsubishi Electric’s elevator technology supports coordination between elevators and mobile robots, allowing robots to interact with elevator systems as they move between floors.

Other building technologies presented at the exhibition include centralised building management, hands-free smartphone access and access-control integration.

Focus on the Airport Environment

Passenger Terminal Expo Asia is focused specifically on the airport and passenger-terminal sector, with attendees including representatives from airports, airlines, government bodies, consultants, designers and technology suppliers.

For elevator and escalator manufacturers, airports represent a demanding mobility environment. Passenger volumes, baggage movement, long operating hours and the need to connect multiple levels and terminal zones make reliable vertical and horizontal transportation an important part of terminal design.

Mitsubishi Elevator Singapore said its participation is aimed at demonstrating solutions that can support the next generation of airports, particularly around passenger movement, operational efficiency and sustainability.

Expanding Connected Vertical Mobility

The exhibition also reflects a broader shift within the elevator and escalator industry. Vertical transportation is increasingly being integrated with wider building systems rather than operating as standalone equipment.

Destination allocation, remote maintenance, access-control integration and robot connectivity allow elevator systems to become part of a wider digital building ecosystem.

Mitsubishi Elevator Singapore already has experience with this approach. At Kajima’s regional headquarters, The Gear, in Singapore, the company implemented building-connectivity solutions that included facial-recognition access control linked with its Destination Oriented Allocation System and Automated Guided Vehicle elevator interfacing.

The company’s presence at Passenger Terminal Expo Asia extends that connected-mobility approach into the airport and passenger-terminal sector.

Passenger Terminal Expo Asia 2026 runs from September 23 to 24 at the Sands Expo & Convention Centre in Singapore, with Mitsubishi Elevator Singapore exhibiting at Stand F130.
